Connect Five – List C!

Kathryn offers generous draws.  The chance to win a book is motivating.  I do not use Kindle and gladly accept every advantage!  I love thinking-up multiple themes!

I have had connection trouble with WordPress sites.  E-mail is where I am sure to get a delightful, important message.  :)

  1. Nice that you found five different states for your settings. Hope you enjoyed your little trip around the US!

    • Hi Nicole! What a gift to receive a comment at my blog posts, even more seldomly than for Goodreads revews! Perhap you will start a trend. Yes, I make an effort with book themes. Like Canada’s provinces, the United States are each different and worth visiting. Books tempt me to see more of them than the ones I enjoyed fondly!

  2. Kathryn says:

Interesting – Five Metaphysical areas, you had me looking up the meaning of metaphysical, I am not sure I understand it yet, but sort of outside what is “normal”?

    • Hi Kathryn! What timing to honour me with comments from you. It is the first time I have gotten access to my WordPress account for about two weeks! My dial-up internet provider is not returning e-mails, there is no phone number save a place where you can only leave voicemail, and WordPress is e-mailing once every day or two to help me figure out what I, or they can do. Whatever is working today, I am in!

Yes indeed: “metaphysical” means “ethereal” and “mystical”. The terms “spiritual” and “paranormal” weren’t quite general enough to define all five of my subjects. I am happy you are enjoying my ideas! I made haste to enter your contest this month the last time WordPress was working. It may be that I have another category to add if it keeps working later today. I need to go out this afternoon, to places that aren’t open late. I wanted to be sure to reward your visit with a reply as fast as I could!

      • Kathryn says:

Thank you. So tough with an internet provider who doesn’t return emails. They can be pretty similar here! Thank you for the metaphysical understanding, I get it far better now with your explanation. Learning all the time!

      • I seldom teach new words to anyone and am usually the person who looks things up and marvels at other vocabularies. I consider mine very advanced and elegant but some writers turn English on its head and amaze us. At any rate, it is a pleasure to share this word with you.

A fun fact you would like, then, is that I do not consider “supernatural” a synonym for “paranormal”, although it used to be the word people used up to the 1970s. I allot “supernatural” to fake creatures, like vampires or werewolves. I reserve the “paranormal” for ethereal / mystical / metaphysical things that are quite real: spirits, energy healing, psychic senses…. if you see what I mean.
